The main challenge with this project was how, on a difficult morphology site surrounded on three out of its four faces by one avenue and two streets, to distribute a total of 240 apartments that would respond to their urban situation while relating to the surrounding low density scale of buildings and, simultaneously, drawing a structured dialogue with site’s interior.
For this purpose, the project was conceived in way that creates a series of open air pockets that would provide a different scale and identity to each part of the resulting courtyard. The individual character of each of these triangle-shaped open air spaces is also a reflection on the rich scale diversity of the surrounding area.
