This series of drawings is set in a context affected by the aftermath of one of the most recent terrorist attacks in Paris during last November – 2015. Terrorism, seen as a violent act from Islamic radicals towards the western civilization, has had the tendency of enhancing sentiments of patriotism and nationalism within the local-born ‘attacked’ populations. In this context, which are the sentiments enhanced, if any, within the local immigrant populations? The sentiment of absence is a large window from where one could observe and analyze how politics and certain neuralgic subjects take part in the everyday life of local immigrants.
