Without the designer in the room

The design is broken down so that production and operation happen without the designer present. A saddler, a salesperson, a contractor or a grandparent can carry on without me.
The research question
How does a company produce a complete, priced, buildable proposal without depending on its expert?
I A bag that goes flat · 2016
Lar Bags, a Berlin brand I founded, began with a scene in Paris: a man on a bike, an empty shoulder bag folded around his body like a jacket. The answer was a large bag that goes completely flat when empty, sized for a whole day of working tools: one 500 × 200 mm body in three heights.
II Broken down into parts · 2016–2018
The making was part of the project. The design was broken down into parts so that it could be made without the designer in the room, by a saddler, Adolfo Fariña, and Dominican artisans, bringing the quality of their craft to international markets. The bags were produced on commission.
