The Operation Map

Before building anything, I draw the plan of your real operation — not the ideal one — how information actually moves through your business today, end to end, and where it breaks. That plan is The Map. It comes first, and it is a phase in its own right, because it stands on its own.

What it is

A diagnosis with a fixed scope and a fixed price. It is not a sales proposal, and it is not a list of features: it is the plan that makes your operation visible, locates where it jams, and turns a vague wish — "I need an app" — into a concrete, costable scope. The Map is worth having even if you build nothing afterwards: it tells you exactly where you sit at the centre of everything, and what to take off your plate first.

What follows — the four phases

The Map is the first of four phases. The three that follow are one project at one price, paid out as each is delivered — not three things bought separately.

The Map tells you where the operation breaks and what has to change. Writing the processes out, specifying the tools and building them is the project that follows: that is where the executable detail lives.

After the arc, an optional retainer keeps the operation evolving with the business instead of ageing.

What you are after, in the end

Internal tools that work and are obvious to use —simple enough that they demand no specialist— and a change you start to feel while the implementation is still under way: workflows that hold, a team with more energy and less improvisation, better margins, and time free for the thing that actually grows the business: winning new clients.

The Map is the only way in. Start there.
